Bolton based retailer, AO.com is proud to announce that AO Tech has won the Team of the Year – Large Organisations award at last night’s inaugural Computing Rising Star Awards 2019, beating competition from entrants from across the UK.
The Computing Rising Star Awards, which took place at Proud Embankment in London, celebrated emerging talent in digital. The awards recognised and identified industry leaders as well as shining the spotlight on organisations and individuals that help to foster and develop new talent in the industry.
AO Tech’s diverse and cross functional Basket team took home the Team of the Year – Large Organisations award following a successful year of working collaboratively to successfully redesign AO’s responsive checkout.
With almost 60% of customers visiting AO.com using a mobile phone, the fastest growing platform for online purchases, the improvements made it quicker and easier for customers to pay. The judges commended the team for obsessing about the customer experience and making the customer king.
Since the start of the year, AO.com has undertaken its biggest ever IT recruitment drive since it was founded in 2000, recruiting new tech roles across its Bolton and Manchester offices. AO Tech pride themselves on being at the forefront of technology and making the most of new and emerging technologies, keeping up to date with the latest tech and trends. AO Tech develops the majority of technology systems in-house, adapting to opportunities to make the shopping experience as easy as possible for its customers.
