The online electricals store, AO, has today ramped up its recruitment drive with the creation of 650 new, high quality jobs across the UK in its retail, mobile, tech, financial services and logistics divisions.
The huge recruitment drive comes as AO prepares for significant growth and to manage the sustained demand sparked by customers turning to AO after Covid-19 accelerated online shopping habits, building on the growth that AO saw in 2019.
As AO seeks to cement the increased demand for buying electricals online, more “AOers” are needed across its business from supply chain to developing its technology to marketing and most important of all, helping customers get what they need, when they need it.
AO is looking to fill vacancies in various locations including Manchester, Bolton, Telford, Thatcham and Crewe and in some cases where possible, working from home.
There’s a wide variety of jobs on offer in Tech, Creative, Supply Chain, Brand, Sales, HR, Customer Services and Marketing often working across AO’s UK and growing international business. AO is looking for a diverse range of expertise to join its 3,000-strong team from gas engineers to software developers to a fridge recycling shift coordinator and even a TikTok expert.

Rebecca Pawson, Training Specialist at AO, joined the business in 2014 as a Sales Executive in the contact centre. Six years later, Rebecca has come full circle and is now in the Learning and Development team training new recruits in AO’s customer contact centre.
