Online electricals retailer, AO, has launched a new Business to Business division, appointing industry veteran Mark Armstrong as its new Head of Sales for the housebuilders sector.

Reporting to AO Business MD, Anthony Sant, Mark’s appointment signals AO’s serious intent to disrupt the B2B market with an offer based on its 20 years’ experience of selling electricals to the public – five-star service, great prices and huge range.

Mark, who started this week, joins AO with more than 26 years’ experience in the industry. At Electrolux, Mark was Channel Head – Housebuilders, responsible for growing the businesses market share within new home builders to 70% and managing all distribution networks for its UK business.

“We’re thrilled that Mark is joining us on our mission to transform the way that businesses buy electricals,” said AO Business MD, Anthony Sant. “AO has always disrupted sectors that it enters, not least when it changes the face of the white goods industry twenty years ago.

“With Mark on board, we are now perfectly placed to go full steam ahead with our plan to offer the B2B sector a new way of buying electricals. All of our research tells us that the AO way of doing things will be hugely welcomed in this market.”

Starting with house builders, AO Business aims to offer clients a better way of buying appliances. Whether it’s the gold standard customer service or having the opportunity to utilise AO’s own logistics fleet which offers seven days a week delivery across 95% of postcodes in UK, clients will be able to receive the products they want, when they need them at the best price.

Mark said: “I am delighted to join this incredible business at such an exciting time in its history. After years of working in this industry, I know what business clients need and AO is uniquely placed to fulfil this. The opportunity for AO to transform the way business clients are served is huge. I look forward to being able to offer my clients the products they need, at a great price with the bonus of best in class customer service.”

AO will be attending Europe’s largest housing event Housing 2019 from 25 – 27 June. At this three-day event, AO will be on hand to discuss in more detail how they can work with clients going forward.
