AO, the UK’s most trusted electricals retailer, is marking five years of operations at its Larkhall delivery depot with fresh investment in its delivery fleet, site improvements, and local job creation.

The investment supports AO’s ability to deliver essential electricals to customers across Scotland, strengthening its delivery network from the South Lanarkshire site.

The online electricals retailer moved to its 20,000 sq ft depot at Strutherhill Industrial Estate in July 2021, relocating from its previous base at Canderside Toll Distribution Centre. Since then, the Larkhall outbase has played an important role in supporting AO’s UK-wide delivery operation.

To support continued growth in Scotland, AO has invested in a brand-new fleet of delivery vans and created eight full-time jobs for people in South Lanarkshire, helping ensure it has the teams in place to serve customers across the region.

The investment also includes upgrades to the depot itself, with refreshed signage and improvements to employee facilities, including newly redecorated office, training, and break room spaces—supporting the teams responsible for delivering AO’s service to customers.

Scott Chapman, depot manager at AO’s Larkhall outbase, said: “Reaching five years in Larkhall is a really proud moment for us. Over that time, we’ve built a fantastic team and become part of the local community.

“This investment is about building on that – continuing to create opportunities for local people and making sure we remain a great place for local people to work and grow.

“We’re excited about the future and looking forward to welcoming new team members.”

As AO continues to invest in its Larkhall depot, the business is reinforcing its presence in South Lanarkshire while supporting local employment and maintaining the infrastructure behind its customer deliveries across Scotland.
