A Dundee-based AO depot supervisor came to the aid of an elderly man after seeing him fall unwell in a local supermarket car park, demonstrating the people-first values behind the UK’s most trusted electricals retailer.
Will Davidson, who has worked at AO’s Dundee delivery outbase for over 12 years, spotted the octogenarian collapse while visiting a Lidl store on his lunch break.
Drawing on the same care and responsibility that underpins AO’s customer service, Will acted quickly—calling an ambulance and staying with the man until paramedics arrived.
After emergency services attended, Will went a step further by driving the man home and helping carry his groceries into the house, making sure he had fully recovered before returning to work.
The actions reflect the culture and values that guide AO colleagues both on and off the job, including treating people with care, respect and empathy.
Lynne Wood, director of service delivery at AO, said: “We always speak about being magic in the moments that matter and Will’s quick-thinking actions exemplify this.
“Our core AO values are ‘treating every customer like your gran’ and ‘making decisions that would make your mum proud’ and Will has certainly lived by these.
“After dropping the gentleman off at home, Will even rang the paramedics back to make sure he was going to be okay before he left and returned to work. We’re extremely proud of him.”
Will’s actions highlight the role AO’s local teams play in communities across the UK, with colleagues representing the same values that shape the experience customers receive every day.
